Brief portrait
After a construction phase of around three years, the Hotel Schillerhof opened its doors in April 2022 in the heart of the classical city of Weimar. The listed and freshly restored neo-baroque façade merges seamlessly into a timelessly modern new building with 102 rooms and an elaborate roof construction. The construction supervision included extensive services in the technical building equipment (TGA) and contributed significantly to the successful implementation.
The energy concept included a heating capacity of around 200 kW at a temperature level of 80/60 °C and a cooling capacity of approx. 350 kW at 6/12 °C.
The ventilation technology is tailored to the hotel's requirements: A central ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system with an air flow rate of approx. 21,700 m³/h supplied the hotel rooms, waste room and kitchen. In addition, two purge ventilation systems with a capacity of 20,000 m³/h each and a smoke extraction system with a capacity of 4,150 m³/h were installed to meet the high technical and safety requirements.
Construction supervision included checking the technical implementation as well as cost and schedule control. The central tasks included quality control of the construction work, including checking compliance with the execution and assembly plans, the public law approvals, the contracts with the contractors and the relevant regulations and recognized rules of technology.
In addition, the various trades were coordinated, certificates of equivalence were prepared and checked and materials were approved. Supplements were professionally assessed and construction progress was documented in a detailed construction diary.
The project combines sophisticated technology with listed building fabric and placed high demands on the supervision and coordination of all trades. The Hotel Schillerhof meets the requirements of GreenSign Hotel 1.0 certification.
