Brief portrait

VELUX is the world's largest manufacturer of roof windows and is represented in almost 40 countries with more than 10,000 employees. At the Sonneborn site, SIG Sonneborn Bauzubehör-Industriegesellschaft mbH manufactures the high-quality VELUX roof windows on an area of 120,000 m². The insulating glass factory VELTERM Sonneborn GmbH manufactures the insulating glass panes for these windows. A total of around 450 people are employed in both plants. As German production companies of the VELUX Group, the companies have made an excellent name for themselves. Long-term success is ensured with exemplary production technology, high productivity and continuous quality improvement. The production site comprises 8 production halls, some of which are interconnected, 3 warehouses and a central warehouse for the finished products. There are also various outbuildings. In total, the heated production area extends to approx. 36,400 m². In addition, there is approximately 12,600 m² of unheated built-up area.
