THIMM is a corrugated board specialist and has specialized as an innovative system provider for all aspects of the packaging management process. With a market share of 5.6% and a turnover of around 280 million euros, the THIMM Group is one of the top 4 in the German corrugated board industry. Our office was commissioned with the design planning, the functional tender and the search for an innovative technology for the use of production exhaust air.
The solution with the ventilation unit with heat recovery from APESS is very interesting. It delivers a volume flow of approx. 8,100m³/h. The planned 2-stage APESS process increases the heat recovery performance of the air conditioning system to the ideal value of 100%. In winter, during the heating period, cold water is provided to dissipate internal heat loads, e.g. those generated in the server rooms. In summer, during the cooling period, APESS can supply heat energy to a domestic hot water system. In this operating mode, no costs are incurred for the generation of cooling or heating energy due to the principle of heat/cool offset. It extends the functionality, optimizes the benefits and reduces energy consumption.
