Brief portrait

As a renovation of the old gymnasium would have been too cost-intensive, the client decided to demolish the old gymnasium. The new construction began in 2004. IPH Selzer developed a comprehensive energy concept for the client, in which the investment and operating costs of the alternative energy supply were presented. The calculated operating costs for the alternative supply were very favorable. However, the investment costs for deep probes and heat pumps were still too cost-intensive at that time, so that an amortization of less than 15 years was not feasible. IPH was responsible for the design, implementation planning and construction supervision for the entire technical building equipment. The drinking water supply and heat generation were provided by the neighboring school building. To secure the hot water supply, a central 400 l storage tank has been installed in the HA room. The showers are equipped with coin-operated machines. The calculated or required heat output is 70 kW. Underfloor heating is used to distribute the heat in the hall and the social rooms. The two areas are operated with a different spread. The social area with temperatures of 50/35°C. Due to the floor structure in the hall, a higher temperature with a spread of up to 70/55°C can be used here. The washrooms, showers and changing rooms are connected to a ventilation system with heat recovery.
